The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the Uzbekistan Park in Baku Wednesday, the Azerbaijani presidency press service said.
The park will reportedly create a "unique environment reflecting Uzbekistan’s rich history, architecture and culture", including Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Kokand.
The park’s surface will be 5 hectares, and will be designed in the shape of a map of Uzbekistan. It will also host a museum, a cinema, an amphitheater, a tower, restaurants and cafes of Uzbek national cuisine, a shopping area, souvenir shops, a zoo and a hotel. The main facilities of the park will be architectural examples of Bukhara, Samarkand and Khiva.
