Uzbekistan solar and wind power plants have produced over 5 kWh of power year-to-date - surpassing the renewable power generation in the whole of 2024, the Ministry of Energy said.

From June 10 to July 6, the country’s renewables facilities supplied a record-breaking 1 billion kWh to the national power grid.

The bulk of supplies to date came from 11 PV plants, which generated 3.125 billion kWh. Additionally, four wind farms contributed another 1.915 billion kWh to the network.

The ministry stressed that the renewables helped save more than 1.5 BCM natural gas and prevented the emission of 2.22 million tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

As of 8:00 AM on July 7, total green energy generation — combining solar, wind, and hydropower — reached 8.73 billion kWh, accounting for 20.3% of Uzbekistan’s total power production in 2025.

Reportedly, this volume is sufficient to cover the average six-month power consumption of 7.28 million households. It also allowed the country to save 2.64 BCM gas and avoid 3.88 million tons of air pollution.
