Deputy chief of the Presidential Administration in charge of Judicial System Reform, Nodira Khakimova spoke about implementing progress of compliance control in courts after a government meeting chaired by the president Mirziyoyev on February 12.
She told the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel judicial personnel had been left behind in terms of fight against corruption.
"Although approximately 1,600 judges administer justice, assisted by approximately 5,000 court employees, unfortunately, there is no inspectorate or separate compliance department focused on the transparency and integrity of court employees. The president made recommendations in this regard," said Nodira Khakimova.
He gave a directive to train compliance officers first, and then implement this service nationwide.
In an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 channel, the Chairman of Supreme Judicial Council Kholmumin Yodgorov explained the need to implement the institution of judicial administration.
"Thanks to this novelty, judges will be relieved of unnecessary duties, allowing them to focus exclusively on delivering justice. In the future, organizational matters related to the execution of decisions, document processing, and judicial reporting will be transferred to this new body. This practice has proven successful over many years in the United States, European Union countries, Singapore, and South Korea," said Kholmumin Yodgorov.
The Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council added that these and other steps were aimed at increasing the openness and transparency of the judicial system and ensuring the rule of law.
"We will complete extensive work to ensure the timely and lawful consideration of cases, to eliminate red tape and free the public from going through various bodies," said Kholmumin Yodgorov.
