PV and wind power plants produced 1 billion kWh year-to-date, recording 400 million kWh, or 40% increase to the same period in 2025, the press service of the Ministry of Energy said.
Uzbekistan has 15 PV and five wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 5,582 MW.
Year-to-date, PV plants have generated 396 million kWh, while wind power plants have produced 604 million kWh.
This increase in generation reportedly has saved 267 million cubic meters of natural gas and prevented the emission of more than 575,000 tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
Added to hydroelectric power plants, generation totaled 1.57 billion kWh of power. This resulted in savings of 400 million cubic meters of natural gas and avoided the emission of more than 863,000 tons of harmful substances. According to the Ministry, this volume corresponds to the average monthly consumption of 5 million households or the annual consumption of 625,000 households.
PV plants in the Navoi and Samarkand provinces generated 434 million kWh in 2022 and 576.9 million kWh in 2023. In 2024, nine solar and one wind power plant generated 4.86 billion kWh. In 2025, the combined output of all solar and wind power plants reached 10.5 billion kWh, and the total power production amounted to 86.7 billion kWh.
Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov previously noted that commissioning of new power capacities allowed Uzbekistan to transition to net power exports in 2025.
