Today the Uzbek Central Election Commission at a meeting announced that it has adopted a resolution on accreditation of observers from several international organizations to the presidential elections.

The observers of the missions of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the World Association of Electoral Bodies and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have thus been accredited, a statement of the National elections press center.

The CEC’s meeting, attended by the members of district election commissions, political parties members and observers from the OSCE ODIHR, also studied the issues related to the preparation and holding of presidential elections.

Seminars are being held in all regions which are aimed at increasing the legal knowledge of the members of election commissions and at strengthening the capacity for effective organization of commissions’ work, the statement added.

From November 20 to 30 seminars will be organized, which will address the issues of preparing the polling stations, amending voters lists, early voting and counting of votes.
