Vehicle permits (stickers) will be canceled and personal vehicles will be allowed to circulate, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the government meeting on Tuesday.

He noted that over the past two weeks, the activity of 59 thousand business entities has been resumed. The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, together with mayor’s offices, studied the situation on the ground.

In addition to the restored industries, agriculture and construction sectors, it is planned to gradually resume the activities of service providers.

In districts where the epidemiological situation has improved, it is planned to allow the activities of non-food stores, medical diagnostics centers, taxis, sewing services, household appliances repair, shoe repair and hairdressers maintaining sanitary restrictions.

However, the lockdown restrictions for public facilities, including theaters, sports halls, celebration halls and public transport, will remain in place for some time.

The Special Republican Commission was instructed to decide in which provinces and on what conditions the provision of services would be resumed.

“As the epidemiological situation improves, we will continue to remove restrictions. If the situation, on the contrary, worsens, we will reapply the lockdown measures,” the president emphasized.

“All this is not easy. To date, we have contributed 2 trillion 250 billion soums, or US$ 250 million, from the Anti-Crisis Fund and US$ 500 million from funds of international financial institutions. Today, no one in the world knows how long a pandemic will last. Therefore, no matter how difficult it may be, we must learn to work and live in a pandemic, with all restrictions. Now, taking advantage of the fact that the epidemiological situation has improved, we must gradually relax the lockdown measures. These restrictions have a huge negative impact on the economy and the households,” he continued.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, together with industry leaders, provincial governors and banks, to determine the types and amount of assistance to enterprises by June 1 and develop a post-crisis action plan for each company.
