The State Statistics Committee has released new data on the number of foreign-invested companies in the country. Reportedly, as of August 1, 2026, a total of 20,973 foreign-invested enterprises were operating in Uzbekistan. Of these, 4,685 are joint ventures and 16,288 are wholly foreign-owned companies.
The total number of foreign-invested enterprises in Uzbekistan has grown 1.7-fold over the past five years.
By country, China accounts for the largest share, with 6,241 Chinese-capital companies currently operating in Uzbekistan. Russia ranks second with 3,512 enterprises, followed by Turkey in third place with 2,327.
The leading countries by number of foreign-invested enterprises in Uzbekistan are as follows:

- Kazakhstan — 1,321;
- South Korea — 730;
- Afghanistan — 706;
- Azerbaijan — 492;
- Tajikistan — 467;
- United Arab Emirates — 453;
- India — 439.
China thus holds a commanding lead over all other countries in terms of the number of foreign-invested enterprises operating in Uzbekistan.
