President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić have convened a high-level joint business forum to chart a new course for bilateral economic relations.
The summit brought together over 200 government officials, trade representatives, and corporate executives from both nations. Prominent Serbian companies in attendance included pharmaceutical giants Galenika and AbelaPharm, industrial manufacturer Goša FOM, and textile leaders Yumco and Luss Textile.
In his address, President Mirziyoyev emphasized that the highly productive summit marks a significant turning point for the two countries. The core achievement of the talks was the formal establishment of a landmark strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Serbia.
The two administrations have set ambitious targets to exponentially increase bilateral trade volumes by expanding the range of reciprocal exports and streamlining customs procedures. To solidify industrial cooperation, the leaders adopted a joint action plan spanning 2026–2028.
President Mirziyoyev outlined several key sectors for deepening economic integration, including:
- Setting up joint production lines for textiles, electronics, automotive systems, and industrial components.
- Localizing the manufacturing of specialized pharmaceutical drugs.
- Expanding high-value-added agricultural processing for fruit and vegetable exports.
- Launching collaborative initiatives in software development and artificial intelligence (AI).
The Uzbek leader reassured Serbian business executives of Tashkent's unwavering commitment to fostering a lucrative investment climate and providing hands-on governmental support for every joint venture. The business forum concluded with the signing of a comprehensive suite of bilateral economic agreements and commercial trade contracts.
