Azerbaijani companies are preparing to invest in the development of gold and other ore deposits, geological exploration, silver ore processing, and rare earth metal extraction in Uzbekistan. The projects are part of a broader package of agreements signed with the Azerbaijani side, the press service of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade reported.
AzerGold plans to take part in developing the Akba gold deposit in the Kitab district of Kashkadarya province. The company has also signed on to conduct geological exploration in promising areas of the Nurata district in Navoi province.
In 2025, Uzbekgeologorazvedka reported certifying more than 13 metric tons of industrial gold reserves at the Akba deposit, which have since been added to the state balance. The company estimates that further exploration at the site could uncover as much as 50 additional tons of gold.
SOCAR is conducting geological exploration on the Terengkuduk, Boyterak, Birkori, Kharoy, Kulboy, and Karakalpak blocks in the Muynak and Kungrad districts of Karakalpakstan.
In the Pop district of Namangan province, a silver ore processing plant is planned in partnership with the Sur Gold and Silver Project.
Another initiative involves rare earth metal extraction across the Navoi, Tashkent, and Jizzakh provinces, with NEQSOL Holding serving as the Azerbaijani partner.
In June 2026, NEQSOL Holding signed an agreement with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology on the joint development of critical minerals, including strategic resources such as titanium. The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, outlines plans to identify priority sites and apply modern technologies and international standards to critical minerals projects.
In addition, Baku Oltin plans to establish jewelry manufacturing operations in Fergana, while the Sur Gold and Silver Project is set to launch a similar venture in the Almazar district of Tashkent.
According to the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, jewelry exports totaled $685 million between January and June — 2.8 times higher than the same period last year.
SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz also plan to jointly expand a network of gas stations across Uzbekistan. The presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have already launched construction on five filling stations.
Among the other agreements signed are projects to produce dry construction mixes and drywall in the Kamashi district of Kashkadarya province, to establish a 1,000-hectare intensive fruit orchard in the Turakurgan district of Namangan province, and to develop storage and processing infrastructure for agricultural produce.
GFF Langar plans to build a cold storage facility and fruit-processing capacity in the Turakurgan district. AXB-Fruits LLC will modernize a cold storage facility in the Kuva district of Fergana province, while Gold Fresh Fruits will establish a fruit orchard in the Pop district of Namangan province.
In construction, TuranAZ is set to build the Baku City residential complex in the Davlatabad district of Namangan province.
Agalarov Development plans to build a multistory residential complex in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, while Hidro İnşaat Servis will construct multistory apartment buildings in the Yunusabad district. Agalarov Development is also a partner in the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan international tourism center project in the Bostanliq district of Tashkent province.
PASHA Holding plans to build a five-star Ritz-Carlton hotel and the Baku Tower apartment complex in the Chilanzar district of the capital.
In New Tashkent, an "Azerbaijan" park is planned in partnership with Azerbaijan's State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture.
The International Bank of Azerbaijan (ABB) will take part in the development of Davr Bank in Tashkent by acquiring a controlling stake.
Landau Education Group also plans to establish a network of Landau-branded STEM schools in the capital, with the first location set for the Mirabad district.
