Warm, dry weather will continue across most provinces of Uzbekistan until the weekend, when moist air will bring rain to parts of the country, Uzhydromet said.

Friday and Saturday will be dry nationwide, with overnight temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees Celsius and daytime highs of 25 to 27 C, the agency said. In the south and the desert zone, highs will locally reach 29 to 32 C.

Moist air will begin moving into western areas on Saturday evening, bringing possible rain to southern Karakalpakstan and Khorezm province.

On Sunday, the wet air mass will spread across the rest of the country. Rain is expected in places in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm province, in the desert zone and the south in the afternoon, and in central areas in the evening. Tashkent province and the Fergana Valley will stay dry. Temperatures in the northwest will fall to 18 to 23 C.

Winds will blow from the east, shifting to the west, at 7 to 12 meters per second.

Rain is forecast in places in the mountains from Oct. 9 to 11. Mudflows and flash floods are possible in the foothills and mountains on Oct. 11, Uzhydromet said.

In Tashkent, no precipitation is expected before the weekend. Easterly winds will blow at 3 to 8 meters per second, with overnight lows of 13 to 15 C and daytime highs of 25 to 27 C.
