The implementation of new rules governing entry to Egypt for citizens of Uzbekistan has been postponed until March 1, 2027, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry press service said.

The ministry said the delay followed direct talks with Egypt, in which the two sides agreed to review an earlier decision to tighten entry procedures. Until the new rules take effect, citizens can travel to Egypt under the current procedure, it said.

The ministry said it is continuing work with foreign partners to expand citizens’ travel opportunities, implement visa-free regimes and simplify existing travel procedures with other countries.

It also urged citizens traveling abroad to strictly observe local laws, meet visa and immigration requirements, and respect the host country’s national values, traditions and public order.

“Responsible conduct by every citizen abroad helps strengthen Uzbekistan’s positive image and advance our country’s international cooperation,” the ministry said in its statement.

It had been reported earlier that, from Nov. 1, citizens of Uzbekistan would not be able to enter the Sinai Peninsula, including Sharm el-Sheikh, without first obtaining a visa.
