Uzbekistan is proposing to implement a unified national digital transport platform, Bir Yol, from Jan. 1, 2028, bringing together rail, air, bus and urban public transport services, according to a draft resolution developed by the Ministry of Transport.
The document is open to public discussion until Nov. 11.
Passengers would be able to use the platform to view routes, timetables, ticket prices and seat availability, the draft says. It also envisages door-to-door trip planning, with electronic tickets and transfer services arranged through a single order and payment.
A pilot of the single-ticket system is planned from July 1, 2027, on the Tashkent airport-Urgench airport-Khiva railway station route.
The draft also proposes coordinating domestic flight schedules to create convenient connections for passengers travelling through Tashkent International Airport to other parts of the country. The layover between a flight’s arrival and the next departure would be optimized, taking into account airport operational procedures and aviation safety requirements.
Connecting passengers would receive a single electronic ticket, be checked in to their final destination, and have baggage delivered there without collecting it at the intermediate airport.
Train, air and road timetables would be reworked using artificial intelligence, the document says, with bus departure times aligned with train and flight schedules.
The proposals form part of a draft resolution approving a strategy through 2030 for the comprehensive development of domestic passenger transport by rail, air and road.
The same draft was earlier reported to provide for extending high-speed electric train services on the Tashkent-Andijan route to Samarkand by the end of 2027, and doubling services on the Fergana Valley loop route by the end of 2028.
