Against a backdrop of global supply chain disruptions, Uzbekistan is exploring the use of air freight to secure essential goods, with the government offering to partially subsidize the costs. This strategic shift was announced by Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, following the government meeting chaired by the president on Monday.

Starting April 1, Uzbekistan will begin creating "green walls" in Surkhandarya and Syrdarya provinces to prevent dust storms, as part of the Presidential decree on the "Clean Air" project. Suitable trees and shrubs will be selected based on local conditions, with specific planting schemes and quantities determined for these areas.

The presidential Mirziyoyev signed a decree on mandatory switching paying for specific goods and services to cashless form starting April 1.

Air India today announced that it has entered into a new codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways, strengthening its growing international network and enhancing connectivity between India and Central Asia.
