Usmon Toshev, the head of the National Teams Department at the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA), has shared his thoughts on potentially organizing a friendly match against Russia.

"We are ready and would be delighted to play against the Russian national team. Currently, we only have one confirmed friendly match, which is against South Korea in October. Therefore, we could consider a fixture against Russia during the September–October international windows or in November.

Our teams last faced each other four years ago, and it would be highly interesting for us to test ourselves against such a strong opponent once again. Naturally, when making a final decision, we will evaluate the association's existing proposals, ongoing negotiations with other Asian teams, and the input of our head coach, Fabio Cannavaro.

If a formal proposal is made, we are fully prepared to either host the Russian national team in Tashkent or travel to Moscow or any other Russian city. We remain completely open to negotiations and would be pleased to discuss the possibility of making this match happen," Toshev stated.
