As part of the visit of the Uzbek government delegation to Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev held talks with the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikail Jabbarov.

The parties reportedly discussed a wide-scale agenda of bilateral cooperation in trade-economic, investment, transport and logistics areas and pointed to the cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation and investment partnership was as one of the priorities of bilateral relations. Mutual interest was expressed in the expediting of joint work on the establishment of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Investment Fund, the development of financial and technical aspects of 5 large projects with a total value of more than $ 700 million. They agreed to form a Working Group for coordination of efforts in these areas.

They focused on the measures to further increase joint ventures, including in the production of automobiles, jewelry and light industrial products.

They explored measures for the development of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics and agreed upon on the organizational aspects of holding the first meeting of the Joint Commission on International Road Transport in order to discuss measures to facilitate for boosting the volume of transportation of goods, including daily necessities, through the territories of the two countries.

In the end of the meeting, the parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Fund.
