Ninth meeting of the Uzbek-Czech intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation took place in Tashkent on Monday under the chairmanship of the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Josef Sikel.

The meeting was attended by heads of ministries, departments and industry associations, as well as diplomatic missions of the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed practical aspects of the implementation of investment projects in the mining, electrical, agricultural industries, hydropower, production of building materials, and banking and reportedly voiced readiness to build up multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

On the sidelines of the meeting, a meeting of heads of delegations in narrow format was also held, where Laziz Kudratov and Josef Sikel discussed the practical aspects of fully tapping the potential for developing cooperation in a number of areas.

Constructive exchange of views made it possible to identify a number of promising sectors for increasing cooperation and to consolidate specific mechanisms for monitoring and controlling the agreements reached.

At the event, the minutes of the meeting was signed, as well as a joint "road map" to boost trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, which reflected new projects and breakthrough initiatives.
