Currently, 10% of the basic settlement value (BSV), 34 thousand soums, is charged for registration and re-registration of all cars and trailers.

From April 1, the registration and re-registration fee of electric vehicles, motor vehicles and trailers will increase by 15 times - to 1.5 BSV, or 510 thousand soums. For all other cars, the rate will increase by 68.4 times - to 6.84 BSV, or 2.32 million soums.

Five months ago, from November 1, the fee for issuing license plates for cars increased by 2.3 times, or up to 3.5 BSV (1.15 million soums). The fee for issuing license plates for motor vehicles and replacing license plates has also increased. However, then the price changes were announced in advance - on August 10, or 2 months and 20 days in advance. This time the order was passed the day before the promotion.

During April-December last year, the country registered the purchase and sale of 1.34 million cars, which brought over 45.5 billion soums to the budget. If the same pace is maintained, in the remaining months of 2024, revenues will exceed 3 trillion soums.

In Kazakhstan, car registration costs 0.25 MCI (923 tenge, or 26 thousand soums).
