210 schools in Uzbekistan will participate in the TALIS, the international study aimed at evaluating the performance of teachers, working conditions and educational environment in schools, Laziz Khojakulov, chief of the Department of Strategic Development and International Ratings of the Ministry of Pre-school and School Education said at the press conference on April 1 in the Media Agency underscoring that mental stress of teachers is a common problem in educational institutions.

"It's not only in Uzbekistan, but all over the world teachers face social and emotional problems]. Two things should be said about what is being done in the ministry.

First of all, there are international TALIS studies, starting from the public education system and continuing to the preschool and school education system, in which the attitude of teachers to their profession and the effects are being studied. This is something new to us.

Second, in cooperation with the UNESCO, a joint project to improve socio-emotional conditions of teachers in terms of continuous professional development is being planned," he said.

According to Khojakulov, it is planned to conduct training courses for teachers to cope with mental stress and tension.

Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education, Sardor Rajabov, saiduz that Uzbek schools will participate in the TALIS survey for the first time in April and May 2024. 210 schools of the country were selected in the same way as for the PISA study. Research will be conducted in the form of a questionnaire.
