Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke to Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation Sunday, the presidential press services said. The parties reportedly discussed the ways to further advance and strengthen the Uzbek-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance ties and considered the progress of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian President to Uzbekistan in May last year.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of taking coordinated measures aimed at maintaining the dynamics of mutual trade turnover, accelerating cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy, and continuing active contacts between provinces and businesses.

They commended the outcomes of business events held in Tashkent on the sidelines of the fifth Innoprom. Central Asia international industrial exhibition and highly valued the expanding humanitarian cooperation, primarily in the field of culture, art, science and education, sports and tourism.

The leaders also exchanged views on international issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming meetings.

As reported in the Kremlin, Shavkat Mirziyoyev confirmed his participation in the anniversary events in Moscow in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the World War II, which reportedly has a special significance for the peoples of the two countries.
