Tehran hosted Uzbek-Iranian business forum on Sunday. The Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref spoke at its opening.
The volume of trade between the two countries reached $500 million, with the number of joint ventures surpassing 210.
The parties thorough analyzed existing reserves, identified new growth points, and and created a total project portfolio and trade agreements worth of $1 billion.
In his remarks, Abdulla Aripov touched upon the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at improving the business environment and facilitating the doing business for foreign investors.
He noted that Uzbekistan had a preferential trade deals with many countries, and Iranian business leaders were invited to take full advantage of the opportunities of industrial zones in the Khorezm and Samarkand provinces.
Over 100 entrepreneurs, officials of ministries and departments from the country attended the Uzbekistan-Iran business forum with their advanced proposals and initiatives in various areas and held negotiations in a B2B format.
