At a government meeting on school education, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev drew attention to the fact that 7–11th graders spend average of 8 hours on social media a day, his spokesman Sherzod Asadov said today.
According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, this requires a reaction not only from teachers, but also from parents.
“Today, everyone is dealing with youth spirituality. But we do not have a professional organization that would be engaged in the creation of national content that can counter harmful information and its promotion,” the president said.
In pursuance of the relevant presidential decree, the Children's Content Development Center has been set up under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
The Center will analyze content online and on TV that has a negative impact on the upbringing and health of children. It will also place orders for the creation of national content from local authors, as well as organize the training of personnel in this area.
The filmmaker Jahongir Akhmedov has been appointed director of the Center.
Reportedly, more than 6 million schoolchildren and over 1 million students will go on vacation in a few days and it is important to meaningfully organize the leisure of young people during these months.
