On the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum and the Foreign Investors Council meeting, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the CEOs of Standard Chartered, International Hospitals Group, LVMH and Airbus.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the increase in the number of forum participants from European countries indicates the mutual interest of the parties in expanding economic and investment cooperation.
The parties commende the growth in Uzbekistan’s international trade, the number of joint ventures and the investment portfolio with European countries, and active cultural, humanitarian, educational and tourist exchanges.
Prospects for expanding partnerships in financing small businesses and infrastructure projects, as well as the attracting of new credit lines by Uzbek banks were discussed with the CEO of Standard Chartered Saif Malik.
Plans for the construction of a clinic, as well as issues of managing multidisciplinary medical centers in Uzbekistan on the basis of public-private partnerships were discussed with the Chairman of the Board of International Hospitals Group Chester King.
The importance of expediting the opening of the LVMH flagship store in Tashkent City and the possibilities of including Uzbek silk and natural ingredients producers in the company's supply chains were discussed with the CEO of LVMH.
In a conversation with Airbus President for Europe Johan Pelissier, the parties focused on the prospects for expanding partnership in the aviation sector and emphasized the importance of adopting a long-term Cooperation Program.
The CEOs of European companies thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and favorable conditions for foreign investors in our country and voiced readiness to continue to participate in the implementation of important projects and programs in major sectors of the economy.
