A group of individuals, among whom were employees of Navoiuran and NMCC, and who attempted to sell uranium, were persecuted.

According to the court's verdict, J.I. worked as a locksmith at the Sobirsoy geotechnological deposit of Navoiuran State Enterprise. In September 2024, he and another man agreed to sell 120 grams of uranium radioactive material.

O.M. gave it to F.S. with a request to find a customer who would buy 120 grams of uranium. In turn, F.S., in order to find a customer, colluded with F.T. and N.U. to sell natural uranium radioactive material. Then, through F.T., Z.Kh. was appointed as a customer, N.U. found A.K. through and told them that he would sell them natural uranium radioactive substance for $2,000 per gram.

A.K., knowing that selling uranium radioactive substance is against the law, contacted law enforcement agencies. On October 9, 2024, at 12:30 p.m., F.S. and N.U. handed over 67 grams of uranium to A.K. on the condition that it be checked in the Karmana district. A.K. voluntarily handed over the substance to the Navoi city police department.

Z.Kh., who was found as a client, also filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies. On October 9, 2024, based on his complaint, an urgent measure was carried out by law enforcement officers in the Navoi city. During it, F.S. and F.T. were detained while selling 53 grams of uranium received from O.M. for $100,700.

On October 10, 2024, the urgent measure was continued and J.I. was detained when he received $ 40,000 as his share.

By the verdict of the Navoi City Criminal Court on April 14, 2025, J.I. and N.U., who worked as a locksmith at the Amenzo Amontou mine of NMCC, were found guilty under Illegal possession of radioactive materials charge. J.I. was sentenced to 4.5 years, and N.U. to 2.5 years in prison.

The initial court verdict was left unchanged by the ruling of the appellate instance of the Navoi Regional Court's Criminal Court on July 24, 2025.
