The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Brussels on October 23-24, the presidential press service said today.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the president of the European Council António Costa.

They are expected to discuss the progress of the high-level agreements reached at the Central Asia-EU Summit in Samarkand in April.

Reportedly they will focus on advancing projects in trade, economics, investment, finance, innovation, energy, transport, communications, science, education, and other priority areas.

The signing of an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) between Uzbekistan and the EU is also due during the visit.

During the visit, the Uzbek leader will also meet with the senior officials of Belgium and CEOs of major European companies and banks to expedite joint plans to develop technological and industrial cooperation.
