Reforms in Uzbekistan are entering a decisive phase, and every constitutional provision must become a benchmark for action in the life of the state and society. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated this in his congratulatory address on the occasion of Constitution Day (December 8).

“The Constitution is "the guarantor of all rights and freedoms, peace and stability in the country, unity and harmony, and the irreversibility of democratic reforms. The norms and principles enshrined in the Constitution [serve] as a source of enormous strength, confidence, and inspiration in building a New Uzbekistan".

"We must deeply honor the Constitution and laws, possess sound legal knowledge and practical experience. Only then will we be able to actively participate in the governance of state and society and honorably perform our filial duty to the Motherland and the people. Only then will the life-affirming power and creative potential of our Basic Law be even more clearly revealed".

“A crucial task is comprehensively explaining to young people the essence and content of the Basic Law, educating them on constitutional values as true patriots with a high level of self-awareness, political thinking, and legal culture".

“According to the Basic Law, the people are the sole source of state power, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that reforms aimed at strengthening popular sovereignty, representative democracy, and the rule of law will be pursued even more decisively. And, as of January 1, the functions of mayors and chairmen of councils of people's deputies will be separated in districts and cities.”

“In accordance with the Constitution, extensive work is being carried out in the country to fulfill the state's social obligations and build a welfare state. More than ever, importance is attached to protecting human honor and dignity and ensuring the rights and interests of citizens."
