Body of another Uzbek woman, 46-year-old Dilafruz Chullieva, a native of Samarkand province, was found in Türkiye. The body was confirmed to be hers through DNA examination. the Uzbek Women's Rights Protection in Türkiye society.
According to the society, administrative and legal procedures are currently being finalized to hand over the body to her relatives. The process of repatriating the body is being coordinated by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
The society stated that it would be monitoring the situation to make sure that this case ended in a fair trial, the perpetrators are found and brought to justice within the framework of the law.
Earlier, there were reports that the unrecognizable body of a woman was found in Türkiye and that it may belong to Dilafruz Chullieva. Four people were arrested on suspicion of the murder. They were said to be citizens of Uzbekistan.
According to information, Dilafruz Chullieva had a legal residence and work permit in Türkiye. She worked in a household in the Burhaniya district of the Balikesir province. She had been wanted since January 21.
This is the third Uzbek woman to be brutally murdered in Türkiye in recent times. Earlier, Uzbeks Durdona Hakimova and Sayyora Ergashalieva were also murdered in Istanbul. Their deaths caused a huge public outcry in the Turkish society.
