The Tashkent Province Council of People's Deputies has approved new tariffs for drinking water and sewage services. For the majority of residents, the price of a cubic meter of water will rise 19%, from 2,600 to 3,100 soums excluding VAT, while wastewater disposal fees will increase 15%, from 1,300 to 1,500 soums.
The council's resolution was adopted on September 16. The new tariffs will take effect on October 3.
For residents served by the Tashkent Province Water Supply utility, the price of a cubic meter of water, VAT included, will climb 19.2%, from 2,912 to 3,472 soums, while sewage fees will rise 15.4%, from 1,456 to 1,680 soums.
For budget-funded organizations and other legal entities, a cubic meter of drinking water will increase from 16,800 to 17,920 soums including VAT — a 6.7% rise — while wastewater disposal will jump from 3,360 to 4,480 soums, up 33.3%.
Separate tariffs apply to areas served by the Chimgan-Charvak Trunk Water Supply utility. There, drinking water for residents will rise from 1,680 to 1,904 soums including VAT (up 13.3%), and sewage fees will increase from 1,288 to 1,512 soums (up 17.4%).
