Rain is forecast for several provinces of Uzbekistan this working week, with snow possible in the high mountains, the state weather service Uzhydromet said.
Dry, warm weather will persist across most of the country on Monday and Tuesday, with light, patchy cloud and no precipitation. Only Tashkent Province may see a brief rain shower or thunderstorm in places on Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday.
Daytime temperatures will be mostly 25-28 C, with nighttime lows of 10-13 C.
On Wednesday and Thursday, rain is expected in places across the country except Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Province, with thunderstorms possible. Friday will be dry. Nighttime temperatures will range from 8 to 13 C and daytime highs from 21 to 24 C, reaching 26 C in places.
Foothill and mountain areas will see intermittent rain through the week, heavy in places on Wednesday and Thursday. In the high mountains, rain may turn to snow.
Winds will be easterly, turning westerly, at 7-12 meters per second. On Wednesday and Thursday, gusts may strengthen to 14 meters per second in places across the desert zone and the south.
In Tashkent, a light, brief shower or thunderstorm is possible on Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday. Nighttime temperatures will be mostly 10-13 C, and daytime highs 25-28 C.
Rain is expected at times on Wednesday and Thursday, with possible thunderstorms. Friday will be dry. Nighttime temperatures will remain at 10-13 C, with daytime highs of 21-24 C. Winds will be easterly at 3-8 meters per second.
