From January 24, schools, universities, lyceums and vocational education institutions in Uzbekistan will start the educational process online, this was simultaneously reported by the press services of the Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.

This decision was made by the Special Anti-COVID-19 Commission with an aim to prevent the spread of the omicron strain of coronavirus among children and young people.

The Ministry of Health and the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health submitted proposals for online classes to the commission.

According to the Ministry of Education, the TV channels of the National TV and Radio Company will again broadcast lessons for all grades of schools. The recordings will be available in the Online maktab Telegram channel, where the schedule of online lessons will also be published.

The Ministry of Education called on parents to provide assistance to children in learning lessons remotely, paying attention to the safety and health of children at home.

The Inspectorate for Quality Control of Education under the government said that the decision also applies to non-state educational institutions.

The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education reported that the decision applies to all universities (state, non-state, private, branches of foreign universities), vocational education institutions and academic lyceums (all forms and types of education).

Note: Studies in secondary and higher educational institutions were supposed to begin after a two-week winter vacation from January 11, but the holidays were extended by two weeks, until January 24.
