President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke to the Russian President Putin over the phone on Tuesday, the presidential press service said in a statement.

Reportedly, the parties reviewed the ways to advance the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and alliance ties and expand multifaceted cooperation.

The sides noted that year-to-date, the volume of the two-way trade increased by 40% and stressed the importance of deepening cooperation ties between business circles and effectively using the potential of inter-provincial ties.

The parties also exchanged views on issues of the regional agenda and international politics.

The Kremlin press service said that the conversation took place on the initiative of the Uzbek side.

“The mutual intention to further strengthen the Russian-Uzbek relations of strategic partnership and alliance was reiterated,” the message says.
