Uzbekistan and Tajikistan share irrigation water with southern Kazakhstan. In the Turkestan province of Kazakhstan, the problem of irrigation water was solved.

This was reported by the governor office of Turkestan province, the Otyrar news publication said.

As it became known, the southern province of Kazakhstan takes water from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan through the Syr Darya River, after which the water goes to the Dostyk canal.

Reportedly, the problematic issue had to be resolved at the interstate level, thus the governor of Turkestan province Umirzak Shukeyev agreed with the ministers of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and the issue of providing irrigation water was practically resolved.

“Now, the farmers of Turkestan province are waiting for a good harvest. According to officials, this year's bread harvest is twice as large as last year,” the statement said.
