Border troops of the State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan met with representatives of the Taliban movement in Hairatan port of Balkh province on October 5.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the caretaker government of Afghanistan, the parties confirmed their readiness to resolve all contradictions through dialogue, discussed mechanisms for coordination and communication between border guards, and pledged to prevent illegal border crossings.

The delegation from the Taliban was headed by Mansur Mawlavi, commander of the 6th brigade of border troops from the 209th army corps "Al-Fatah", and Uzbekistan - Colonel of the State Security Service Khalik Nazar.

At the end of August this year, the SSS border troops commented on reports that the Taliban had seized an island on the Uzbek border.
