Ten-person group of local businessmen attended training within the Uzbekistan Business Leaders (UBL) program implemented in the United States by the American Councils on International Education in Washington DC from September 7 to October 4, Dunyo reported.

As part of the program, participants will undergo internships in US companies, non-governmental organizations and government agencies, in the cities of Washington, Austin, Texas and San Diego in the areas of hotel business, IT and innovation, inclusive education, support of small and medium enterprises, and furniture production.

The Uzbek Ambassador to the USA, Javlon Vahobov, held a meeting with the participants of the program on the results of their visits to the territories of the USA and training for Uzbeks.

The UBL program is funded by the US Embassy in Uzbekistan and administered by the American Councils on International Education. Professionals between the ages of 22 and 40 engaged in business, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and innovation will be involved.

As part of the program, participants are invited to the United States for specialized professional internships in various commercial and non-commercial organizations, university business departments, and relevant government agencies.

In 2018, this group of UBL participants became the third after the American councils were restored in Uzbekistan. The first group took place in September 2021, the second in May 2022.
