President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev in March will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan, this was announced during the 16th meeting of the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation, which started today in Tashkent.

On February 22, 2017 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Viktor Guminskiy.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on February 22, 2017 signed a decree "On granting citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan". The decree has satisfied the applications and granted citizenship to 94 people.

On February 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov received the new head of the Regional Office for Central Asia of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Jean-Jerome Casabianca. a statement of the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

Starting from June 1, 2017, Uzbekistan’s Supreme Court and the Supreme Economic Court will be merged into one supreme judicial authority for civil, criminal, administrative and economic justice - the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan.

On 15 February 2017, a new project “Strengthening Transport and Logistics Business Intermediary Organisations (BIOs) in Central Asia” was launched in Tashkent. The project is funded by the EU (750.000 EUR) and will be implemented in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in 2017-2019.

Uzbekistan and Russia at the 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Tashkent on Wednesday discussed diversification of trade-economic and investment cooperation.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on February 15 signed a decree on splitting the Ministry of Culture and Sports into the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee for Sports.
