Uzbekistan’s delegation has returned to Tashkent after a successful showing at the fifth Asian Para Games, held in Japan from Oct. 18 to 24.
Uzbekistani athletes won 145 medals at the competition: 45 gold, 49 silver and 51 bronze.
The result put Uzbekistan third in the overall team standings, behind only China and Japan.
It is the country’s best-ever performance at the Asian Para Games. For the first time, the national team finished among the three strongest teams on the continent.
The athletes were given a ceremonial welcome on their arrival in Tashkent.
