Uzbekistan drew against Lebanon in a friendly match at CBUS Super Stadium in Gold Coast, Australia on Thursday. The match was part of the preparations for the teams for the UAE 2019 Asian Cup, which will start on January 5.
Uzbekistan coach Hector Cuper seemed to have used the match to practice defensive play, and the match was not aired on TV due to the alleged request by the coaching staff. Uzbekistan team did not make a single attempt on goal in the whole match.
Lebanon seemed a better side throughout the match, while Uzbekistan managed only three breakthroughs.
Uzbekistan defender Davron Hoshimov was sent off for second yellow card on the 61st minute into the game.
Uzbekistan national team will play Korea Republic in another friendly on November 20.
