Uzbekistan’s men team won the World Chess Olympiad in Chennai (India). In the final game of the match against the Netherlands, Jahongir Vakhidov won and brought the victory to the team with 2.5-1.5.

This is the first victory of the Uzbekistan national team in the World Chess Olympiad.

The team members: Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Nodirbek Yakubbaev, Javokhir Sindarov, Jahongir Vakhidov and Shamsiddin Vakhidov.

The World Chess Olympiad is a team tournament for teams that are members of FIDE (International Chess Federation). The tournament was first held in 1927 in London. Since 1950, competitions have been held every two years.
