Russian forces are attacking Dobropillia with the 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, made up mostly of residents from temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk region and migrants from Central Asia, the analytical project DeepState said.

“The data on the dead and captured from the 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade indicate an interesting situation with recruitment in the brigade,” DeepState noted.

According to the report, the brigade traditionally includes many recruits from the occupied part of Donetsk region, but recently the unit has been actively replenished with illegal migrants, mainly from Central Asian countries.

DeepState reports that Russian command has tasked the 132nd brigade with reaching the eastern outskirts of Dobropillia soon.

Background: The 132nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade was formed based on units led by Igor Bezler. Since 2014, its rank and file have mostly consisted of marginalized individuals and criminals from the occupied areas of Donetsk region, while its command has come directly from Russia.

As of Friday, August 8, the Russian army occupied the settlements of Novokhatske and Tovste in Donetsk region and advanced near six other populated areas.
