The latest phase of the "Uzbekistan Business Leaders" (UBL) program, designed for young Uzbek entrepreneurs, has officially launched in Washington, D.C. The initiative provides participants with a unique opportunity to study advanced American business practices, expand their international networks, and scale new projects.
The opening ceremony and orientation seminar took place at the headquarters of the American Councils for International Education. The event brought together representatives from the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Alyssa Bibb (Deputy Director of the Office of Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State), Lisa Choate (President of American Councils), and Ambassador John Ordway (Chairman of the Board of Directors of American Councils and former U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Armenia), alongside American industry experts and the young Uzbek entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Alyssa Bibb highlighted that relations between Uzbekistan and the United States have reached a new milestone in recent years. She noted the steady growth of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and IT.
Lisa Choate, President of American Councils, emphasized the organization’s long-standing partnership with Uzbekistan in educational and professional exchanges, adding that the UBL program plays a vital role in strengthening ties between the business communities of both nations.
According to her, the program is not only a forum for exchanging knowledge and experience but also a highly effective platform for young entrepreneurs to build new partnerships.
John Ordway, who also attended the event, congratulated the young entrepreneurs on the launch of the program and encouraged them to make the most of America's advanced business practices and management expertise.
In addition, Uzbek diplomats provided insights into the ongoing economic reforms and investment climate in Uzbekistan, as well as the prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
During the interactive discussions, program participants shared their plans for introducing new business models, manufacturing export-oriented products, and developing innovative projects.
It was emphasized that the "Uzbekistan Business Leaders" program serves to enrich the international experience of young Uzbek entrepreneurs, sharpen their management skills, and give them firsthand exposure to the global business environment.
