Best Pipe and Parts has acquired a 70% state-owned stake in UzChasys, an automotive lighting manufacturing plant located in the Namangan region. The auction took place on May 25.
The final transaction amount reached 332.96 billion soums, marking an 80% surge above the initial starting price of 184.98 billion soums. The competitive bidding process lasted approximately 52 minutes.
Under the terms of the acquisition, the buyer is legally obligated to maintain the enterprise's core line of business for at least 10 years, coordinate operational tasks—including price restructuring—with Uzavtosanoat, and ensure that all manufactured products strictly adhere to General Motors’ quality standards.
Established in 2008, the UzChasys joint venture serves as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supplier for GM Uzbekistan. The company operates in technical partnership with South Korea's AMS and India's Neolit ZKW Lighting.
Best Pipe and Parts (operating as Uz-Dongwon Co until 2023) has been active in the market since 1996, specializing in the production of automotive components and accessories. The company has a charter capital of 297 million soums. Its primary shareholders include UzAuto Korea (42.3%), UzAutoComponents (24.44%), South Korea's Dongwon Metal (24%), and Salima Tashkuzieva (9.26%).
This transaction follows Best Pipe and Parts' strategic acquisition of two other enterprises within the automotive supply chain. In February of last year, the company purchased a 98.8% state stake in Avtokomponent for 105 billion soums. Later in August, it secured a 100% state stake in Avto Climate Control, a manufacturer of automotive heating and cooling systems, for 230 billion soums.
