MPs of the Legislative Chamber reviewed the bill, which is aimed at improving the social services system. In recent years, Uzbekistan has been reforming the process of assigning pensions. The practice of issuing pensions based on one ID document has already been adopted, thanks to integration with governmental service centers and the Unified Portal of Interactive Governmental Services.
The bill provides for further digitalization of the pension system and minimization of the human factor. In particular, it has proposed automatic assignment of pensions to individuals who have reached retirement age (60 years for men and 55 years for women), without the need for personal application.
When preparing the bill for the second reading, the proposals of MPs discussed at meetings and seminars were taken into account. After consideration in the third reading, the bill was passed to the Senate.
