Sahro Drone Industry showcased its UAVs at an exhibition in Samarkand, which was attended by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the King of Jordan Abdullah II.

The two leaders visited the Made in Uzbekistan exposition. Among the exhibits were quadcopters and aircraft-type devices from the manufacturer Sahro Drone Industry.

The company CEO Olmoskhon Niyozkhonov in an interview to the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel said that Sahro Drone Industry manufactured mini-drones, FPV drones, reconnaissance drones, as well as dual-use drones (civil and military).

"The King Abdullah II expressed great interest in our goods, 80% of which are completely localized. Before this, partners from Jordan had already visited our production site and had already familiarized themselves with the full production cycle. They were impressed by the degree of localization that we had organized,” he stressed.

Following the exhibition, the company plans to begin negotiations on cooperation with the Jordanian firms and reach an agreement.

Uzbekistan is actively developing the unmanned aviation sector with an emphasis on localization of manufacturing. As reported by the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, in July, an unmanned aviation complex had been inaugurated by the border troops of the State Security Service. The event was attended by the chief of the SSS, Bakhodir Kurbanov.

Director of the IT Park of Innovations in Cybernetics Albert Khamzin said that they were developing own electronic components and software. According to him, the president gave a directive to achieve maximum localization, which already stands at 80%.

The complex includes control centers, simulators and hangars, employing 100 specialists trained overseas. Menawhile, a single control center for unmanned systems is being created, which will control drone flights in the country's airspace.

In 2022, the manufacturing of Lochin (Falcon) UAVs began in Uzbekistan. The drones were developed by the research and production center under the State Defense Industry Committee. The drones can be used for both military and civilian needs.

In February of this year, Uzbekistan and the Malaysian Meraque announced a drones and intelligent agricultural machinery production unit in Yangiyul district of the Tashkent province. The company planned to invest $4.5 million in the project.
