The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the second edition of the Central Asia-Russia Summit in Dushanbe, Tajikistan Thursday, his spokesman secretary, Sherzod Asadov.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev voiced a number of initiatives aimed at strengthening the strategic partnerships, advancing the economic cooperation, and jointly ensuring regional stability.

In particular, he proposed creating a Coordination Council at the level of Deputy PMs to expedite the implementation of joint programs and projects.

Mirziyoyev also proposed a Central Asia-Russia Agroexpress project to boost the trade and facilitate access for agricultural goods to partner markets. The Agroexpress project, which provides for regular and swift delivery of agricultural products in refrigerated trains from Tashkent to Moscow, was launched in 2021. In 2024, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to expand the Agroexpress project to the Eurasian Economic Union.

The President of Uzbekistan also proposed creating a Transport and Logistics Network of the countries to align national programs in road, rail, and air transport.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also proposed creating a Central Asia-Russia Industrial Engineering Hub in Bukhara—a technology platform for developing and implementing engineering solutions.

Furthermore, he proposed making the "Innoprom. Central Asia" exhibition and forum the region's main industrial and innovation platform.

In the area of ​​peaceful nuclear energy development, the President of Uzbekistan proposed establishing a Regional Competence Center for Nuclear Energy in Uzbekistan and launching a Personnel Training Program at the MEPhI branch in Tashkent.

The Uzbek leader also proposed developing the "Central Asia-Russia Energy Partnership" program and expanding cooperation in oil and gas exploration and processing, energy efficiency, and green technologies.

In his remarks, the President of Uzbekistan also initiated the creation of a Regional AI and Digital Technologies Council, as well as branches of the Skolkovo Center in the region.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev advocated the launch of an Engineers of the Future consortium to pool the potential of major universities and research centers in Central Asia and Russia, as well as the setting ip of a special grant program for young researchers and scientists.

He also proposed holding an annual ethnocultural forum—a Festival of Culture and Creativity of the Peoples of Central Asia and Russia.

Concluding his speech, he emphasized the importance of joint measures against terrorism, extremism, cyber threats, and human trafficking, and proposed holding high-level consultations on Afghanistan.
