A 17-year-old individual has been detained in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent on suspicion of illegally trading crypto-assets worth $578,000, equivalent to 6.93 billion soums, the press service of the Tashkent Police Department reported.
During questioning, the detainee admitted to engaging in the unauthorized trading of crypto-assets using specialized hardware and software.
A search conducted at the suspect's residence led to the seizure of a laptop, a mobile phone, two plastic bank cards, and an all-in-one desktop computer as physical evidence.
A criminal case has been launched regarding the incident under Article 278-8 (Violation of Legislation on Crypto-Asset Turnover) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
