Following a blistering weekend that brought intense heat for early August, temperatures across Uzbekistan are set to ease slightly, the Uzhydromet said in a weather forecast.
Throughout the current business week, daytime temperatures will fluctuate between +32°C and +38°C. The only exception remains the extreme southern regions, where the mercury will peak between +40°C and +43°C on Monday afternoon, before leveling out to a slightly cooler +38°C to +40°C from August 4 to 7.
The country will experience light, variable cloud cover with predominantly dry conditions. However, isolated showers and brief thunderstorms are possible in high-altitude terrain, as well as across parts of the Fergana Valley on August 4. Due to these localized weather patterns, authorities warn that the foothill and mountainous areas of Tashkent Province and the Fergana Valley face a potential risk of flash floods and mudflows.
Furthermore, between August 3 and 5, specific districts may encounter gusty winds reaching speeds of 13 to 18 meters per second, which could trigger localized dust storms.
In the capital city of Tashkent, dry weather is projected to persist all week. Daytime temperatures will hover between +35°C and +38°C on August 3 and August 6–7, dropping to a more manageable +33°C to +35°C on August 4 and 5. Overnight lows in the capital will stay within the +20°C to +23°C range. Easterly winds will blow at 3 to 8 meters per second, occasionally intensifying to 10–12 meters per second, and peaking at 12–15 meters per second on August 4, bringing brief dust storms to certain neighborhoods.
