By order of the Interior Minister, Major General Bekmurod Abdullaev has been appointed chief of the Police Coordination Department in Tashkent's Chilonzor district.
Abdullaev, 51, graduated from the Defense Ministry's Samarkand Higher Military Automobile Command School in 1997 and from Namangan State University in 2009.
He served as first deputy commander of the National Guard from 2020 to 2021, then as Deputy Interior Minister and chief of the Public Safety Service from 2021 to 2025.
Abdullaev was sacked on November 3, 2025, and was later taken into custody on suspicion of embezzling state property, abuse of office and other offenses.
In April 2026, reports emerged that Abdullaev, the former Deputy Minister, and Colonel Rustam Tursunov, former head of the Main Directorate for Execution of Punishments, had been released from custody.
According to sources, Abdullaev, Tursunov and seven other officials tied to the case were released on April 15 after compensating for the damage caused.
