Uzbekistan has overfulfilled its 2026 cotton harvest plan, with 4.63 million tonnes picked as of Oct. 22, the Ministry of Agriculture said.
The volume is 103% of the target, the ministry said.
Nearly 3,000 modern cotton-picking machines gathered 3,515,597 tonnes of the crop, bringing the average share of mechanized picking nationwide to 76%, it said.
Jizzakh province recorded the highest mechanization rate, at 98.5%, followed by Syrdarya at 94.2% and Tashkent province at 81.2%.
The ministry said the harvest is not yet finished. First-pass picking is continuing on more than 49,000 hectares.
As of Oct. 12, Uzbekistan had harvested 3.4 million tonnes of cotton, it was previously reported. That was 76% of the 4.5 million tonnes set in contracts for 2026.
