61 kilograms and 121 grams of smuggled gold hidden inside mincing and kneading machines were seized at Cappadocia Airport in Nevşehir, Turkiye. Six suspects, five of whom are Uzbek nationals, were detained.

Teams from the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch of the Provincial Police Department, under the direction of the Nevşehir and Gülşehir Chief Public Prosecutors' Offices, began monitoring five Uzbek nationals who were due to arrive in the city as part of their investigations.

61 kilograms and 121 grams of smuggled gold, melted inside mincing and kneading machines and disguised as parts of the machines, were seized during the search of the suitcases of the suspects, who had flown to Nevşehir from their home countries via Istanbul.

In the operation, five Uzbek suspects, three of whom are women, and a suspect who came to the airport to pick them up, were detained.

The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station.
