President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo opened a joint business forum, drawing more than 300 government officials and business executives, including leaders from top financial institutions, industrial giants, and trading companies.
The South Korean delegation featured executives from high-profile corporations such as Lotte Chemical, Hyundai Motor Group, Samsung C&T, CJ Group, Shinhan Financial Group, Hyundai Rotem, KIND, BOMI, Kia Corporation, Sampyo Group, and Hansae Mobility.
In his address, Mirziyoyev highlighted South Korea as a time-tested friend and special strategic partner, emphasizing that trade, economic, and investment ties remain cornerstones of their multifaceted cooperation. He praised the successful operations of major South Korean companies and their substantial contribution to domestic economic growth.
As the country enters a new phase of industrial and technological advancement, Mirziyoyev noted expanding opportunities for bilateral trade, investment, and fresh joint ventures. He proposed fusing domestic raw materials with South Korea's advanced technology and investment capital to ignite new engines of economic growth.
The president outlined key priorities for future economic partnership, including industrial cooperation and the development of complete production chains, green energy, transport, modern infrastructure, digitalization, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals. He also emphasized joint research and human capital development.
South Korean firms were invited to join projects in copper processing, electrical equipment manufacturing, automotive and electric vehicle parts localization, robotics, automation, and hydropower. Mirziyoyev also called for partnership in energy storage systems, grid modernization, and the overhaul of transport and urban infrastructure.
To drive this industrial and technological cooperation forward, Mirziyoyev proposed establishing a Korea Industrial-Technological Alliance. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to fostering a favorable business climate and providing hands-on support for joint projects.
