In January-September 2016 there were 13,289.3 thousand unemployed in Uzbekistan, a 1.8% increase compared to the same period last year.

The public sector accounted for 18.1% of the total employed (in 2015 - 18.3 percent), the private sector - 81.9% (81.7%), according to the State Statistics Committee’s Information Service. The small businesses share in employment reached 77.8% (in 2015 - 77.5%).

A significant increase in the number of employed is observed in such activities as transportation and storage (3.8%), hotels and catering (3.7%), IT and communication (by 3.4%), construction (3 3%) and trade (2.8%).The unemployment rate was at 5.1%.
